Sustainable Development Goals

Free A Girl’s World Network’s activities and programs are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Good Health & Well-being (SDG 3)

When it comes to our work at Free a Girl’s World Network, which involves empowering girls and women with disabilities, there is a strong connection to SDG 3. By empowering girls and women with disabilities, we are contributing to their overall health and well-being. Our efforts include providing access to healthcare services, promoting inclusive education, and offering opportunities for skill development and economic empowerment. All of these factors contribute to enhancing the quality of life for girls ,women LGBTQ with disabilities, aligning with the principles of SDG 3.

Moreover, our work also addresses specific health needs and challenges faced by girls and women with disabilities, ensuring they have access to appropriate healthcare services, assistive devices, and support systems. This approach not only advances the well-being of these individuals but also promotes a more inclusive and equitable society, in line with the broader goals of SDG 3.

Quality Education (SDG 4)

Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. In the context of our work at Free a Girl’s World Network that involves empowering girls and women with disabilities, we are directly contributing to SDG 4 by providing educational and empowerment opportunities that are inclusive and tailored to their needs. Our efforts align with the goal of ensuring that individuals with disabilities have equal access to education and lifelong learning, fostering their personal and professional development.

Gender Equality (SDG5)

Free a Girl's World Network is dedicated to empowering girls and women with disabilities in Kenya, with a strong commitment to promoting gender equality as outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 5.

By focusing on providing equal opportunities, access to education, healthcare, and leadership development, we aim to break down barriers and create a more inclusive society where every girl and woman, regardless of ability, can thrive and contribute to their communities

Decent Work & Economic Growth (SDG 8)

Sustainable Development Goal 8 focuses on promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. Our work at Free a Girl’s World Network, which involves empowering girls and women with disabilities, directly aligns with this goal by striving to provide them with opportunities for meaningful employment, skill development, and economic independence, contributing to both their personal growth and the overall advancement of society. Our efforts contribute to the broader aim of creating an inclusive and equitable workforce where individuals with disabilities are fully integrated and can participate in the workforce on an equal basis.

Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10)

Sustainable Development Goal 10 focuses on reducing inequalities within and among countries, with a particular emphasis on social, economic, and political inequalities. Our work at Free a Girl’s World Network, which empowers girls and women with disabilities, directly relates to this goal by addressing the unique challenges faced by this marginalized group. By providing opportunities, resources, and support to girls and women with disabilities, we are actively working to bridge the gap and reduce inequalities that they often encounter. Our efforts contribute to fostering a more inclusive society where all individuals have equal access to opportunities, and we play a crucial role in promoting social equity and justice.

Climate Action (SDG 13)

Sustainable Development Goal 13 focuses on taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. While at first glance there may not seem to be a direct link between climate change and empowering girls and women with disabilities, there are indirect connections.

Climate change can disproportionately affect vulnerable populations, including individuals with disabilities. In times of environmental crises, people with disabilities might face additional challenges due to limited mobility, access to resources, and support systems. By empowering girls and women with disabilities through Free a Girl’s World Network, we are not only addressing their immediate needs but also building resilience within the group that might be disproportionately affected by climate-related issues. Moreover, by fostering inclusivity and equality in our empowerment efforts, we are contributing to the overall societal capacity to address and adapt to climate change challenges. Our work aligns with the broader SDG 13 goal of ensuring that climate action is inclusive, responsive, and considers the needs of all segments of society.

Partnerships For The Goals (SDG 17)

Sustainable Development Goal 17 focuses on strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing the global partnership for sustainable development. Our work at Free a Girl’s World Network, which involves empowering girls and women with disabilities, aligns with this goal by fostering collaboration and partnerships to achieve your shared objectives.

By working to empower girls and women with disabilities, we are contributing to the promotion of inclusive and equitable partnerships. Our efforts in collaboration with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and local communities, exemplify the spirit of SDG 17. Our network's approach showcases how partnerships can be leveraged to address the needs of marginalized groups and to create a more just and inclusive society. Our work exemplifies the power of cross-sector partnerships and collective action to drive positive change, which is at the heart of SDG 17.
