About Us – FGWN

Free a Girl’s World Network

Since 2017, FGWN has worked tirelessly to dismantle systemic barriers and empower girls, women, and gender-diverse individuals with disabilities across Kenya.

Why We Exist

Born from resilience, FGWN is a grassroots movement that fights for justice, equity, and the liberation of marginalized communities. Our mission is rooted in feminist, disability justice, and anti-colonial frameworks.

We collaborate across sectors to amplify voices, provide leadership training, expand civic engagement, and build safe, inclusive spaces for self-determination and dignity.

This is more than an organization. It’s a movement born of defiance, love, and the radical belief in the power of girls and women with disabilities. I carry the lived experience of being told I didn’t belong and the fire to make sure no one else hears that again.

I founded this space to create a world where every girl, young woman, and gender diverse person with a disability can live freely, boldly, and without fear.

Free A Girl’s World Network is a justice rooted, feminist, intersectional space. We fight for dignity and rights not with whispers, but with voices that roar for structural change.

We don't just provide services. We build power. Through legal support, leadership training, economic empowerment, and collective advocacy, we equip girls and women with disabilities to lead and thrive on their terms.

To every girl who has been told she is too much, too loud, too different this space was created for you. You belong. You are powerful. You are not alone.

Message from the CEO

At Free a Girl’s World Network, our mission is deeply rooted in the belief that every girl and woman with disabilities deserves to live in dignity, safety, and with full agency over her life. As the CEO, I carry this responsibility with profound purpose.

We fight for equality because injustice against one is injustice against all. Feminism is not a trend. It is a call to action. A commitment to justice, representation, and inclusion.

We advocate for policy change, challenge stigma, and build pathways to empowerment through leadership, education, economic opportunity, and access to health rights. We are unapologetically feminist, intersectional, and inclusive.

When we include every girl and every woman, regardless of ability, we build a more just, resilient, and compassionate world.

Together, we are rewriting the narrative.

Message from the CEO

At Free a Girl’s World Network, our mission is deeply rooted in the belief that every girl and woman with disabilities deserves to live in dignity, safety, and with full agency over her life. As the CEO, I carry the weight of this responsibility with profound purpose, because I have seen firsthand what happens when systems fail to protect, empower, and include our most vulnerable.

We fight for equality because injustice against one is injustice against all. Discrimination, violence, exclusion, and systemic neglect are not just issues faced by individuals. They are barriers to progress for entire communities, nations, and the world. Feminism, to me, is not a trend. It is a call to action. A commitment to justice, representation, and inclusion.

Our work amplifies the voices of girls and women with disabilities voices too often silenced or ignored. We advocate for policy change, challenge stigma, and build pathways to empowerment through leadership, education, economic opportunity, and access to sexual and reproductive health rights. We are unapologetically feminist, intersectional, and inclusive.

Because when we include every girl and every woman regardless of ability we build a world that is more just, more resilient, and more compassionate. A world where no one is left behind.

Together, we are rewriting the narrative.
