Our CEO had the privilege of joining Sara Minkara, President Biden’s Advisor on International Disability Rights, at a crucial meeting hosted at Hon Ummi Mohamed’s office. This gathering brought together key stakeholders, including Nickson Kakiri of KNAD, Richard Mativu of Sense International, Abdi Abdile of the Muslim Association of the Deaf, Washington Opiyo of Deaf Ability Initiative, Eunice Mboya and delegates from the US Embassy. Together, they discussed the implications of the Kenya Sign Language Bill No. 1 of 2024 and exchanged valuable insights to address challenges faced by the Deaf community in Kenya.
